Greatest Bodybuilders Of All Time

There are a lot of good bodybuilders out there, as well as retired bodybuilders. Many people have their own opinion on who the greatest bodybuilders of all time are, but most people can agree that some of the best ones include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronnie Coleman, Phil Heath, Dorian Yates and Jay Cutler.

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger is easily considered to be the best bodybuilder of all-time. From 1965 to 1980, he competed in more than 20 bodybuilding shows. Arnold has won the most prestigious bodybuilding show, Mr. Olympia, on a number of occasions, as well as other contests. In face, he defended the Mr. Olympia title seven times. If that wasn’t impressive enough, another major bodybuilding show was named after him. The competition is called the Arnold Classic and it has been held in Ohio once per year since 1989.

Arnold was known for his physique, as he had a well-balanced physique.

2. Ronnie Coleman
Ronnie Coleman retired in 2007, but he is still regarded as one of the top bodybuilders of all time and he has known for his massive physique. During contest time, he would usually enter shows weighing 300 pounds and during the off-season he would weigh around 340 pounds. Coleman has also won the Mr. Olympia title on numerous occasions. He has defended that title 8 years in a row, and now only did he win eight Mr. Olympia titles, but he has won the most bodybuilding titles as an IFBB professional. He has won 26 IFBB titles, and he broke Vince Taylor’s record, which was 22 IFBB titles.

3. Phil Heath
In 2011, Phil Heath won his first Mr. Olympia title, and since then he has won the competition, with the last one being in 2015. Some of the other major contests he has won include the 2012 Sheru Classic and the 2013 Arnold Classic Europe. Heath made his professional bodybuilding debut in 2006 at the Colorado Pro Championships, which he won. He then went on to capture the title at the 2006 New York Pro Championship. Heath has competed in more than 20 professional bodybuilding shows.

Heath is also a businessman who owns Gifted Athletics, a fitness apparel company. He also co-founded a supplement company called Gifted Nutrition.

4. Dorian Yates
This English bodybuilder is easily considered one of the best bodybuilders of all time and the number of titles he won proves it. He has won the Mr. Olympia title six consecutive times, and he has come in first place at more than 15 professional bodybuilding shows. The last bodybuilding show he won was the 1997 Mr. Olympia. Yates is also the the owner of Temple Gym and DY Nutrition, which is a line of nutritional products.

5. Jay Cutler
No list of bodybuilding greats would be complete without mentioning Jay Cutler, who is no stranger to winning the Mr. Olympia title. He won Mr. Olympia in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010. Other notable contests he won include the Arnold Classic, Dutch Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix to name a few.

Cutler has appeared in many fitness magazines, including Muscle & Fitness, Muscular Development and Flex. One of the most impressive things about Cutler is he is 5’8″ and he weighs around 274 pounds when the time comes to compete, while he weighs around 310 pounds in the off season.

All of the above bodybuilders have contributed a lot to the sport of bodybuilding and they have made a huge name for themselves. As previously mentioned, there are many good bodybuilders out there, but the bodybuilders discussed above are the greatest of all time.
